When Rein and Meta took their 11 year old twin sons Paul and Erik to Plakias to experience diving for the first time, it turned out to be the best family holiday ever. The unique combination of sharing a holiday adventure in an area so hospitable and diverse exceeded every individual expectation. In the following years they returned to Plakias to dive every summer. Every year, it felt more like home. The small community of Plakias is so warm and welcoming, before long they were part of the fabric of village life and familiar with its ways - while the ocean continued to offer up new adventures on each dive.
The stories of their holidays on Crete spread amongst friends and relatives and motivated them to join the family on their trips Rein, Meta, Paul and Erik discovered the satisfaction in organizing a successful holiday experience for others. Dive2gether as you know it today grew up this way, founded with the idea of creating a great experience for a group of friends.
We want you to feel the same way during your stay with us; each day spent with friends. This is why we teach and guide in small groups with personal attention, and share lunchtimes together on our diving days. You will build a great relationship with your guide, a trust which adds to your comfort and experience underwater as well as making the day more enjoyable.
Non-diving friends and family members matter just as much to us, and are always invited to join us to the beach we're diving from that day. It's not only the underwater landscapes that are beautiful here, and our beaches are the perfect place to spend the day relaxing on a sunbed and then joining for lunch in the taverna. Passengers are just as welcome to spend a day enjoying coffee and fruit on the deck of our boat while your companions are underwater.
Besides diving we also offer snorkelling programs that can be enjoyed by everyone, whether the children aren't old enough to dive yet, or if you just prefer to watch wildlife from the surface!
As well as our selection of daytrips, we run a social 'eat2gether' programme every Monday evening. Join the whole team in the shade of our beautiful olive grove garden and enjoy a home-cooked barbecue meal, where everyone is invited and all are catered for, whether you are vegan, lactose intolerant, gluten-free, or have any other requirements.
It's very important to us that our divers also become champions for marine conservation. That's why, as well as giving you the chance to join research dives, our marine biologists host free talks twice a week. On Tuesdays and Fridays, those interested to learn more about the underwater life here in the Eastern Mediterranean can join us on our terrace with a cup of coffee or lemonade as the sun sets behind the Plakias mountain, and hear all about the special ecosystem under the waves just a few metres away.
