INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSE

Our personalised IDC package is delivered with an individual curriculum taught in your own language. Over the course of 2 weeks, you will qualify as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, PADI Specialty Instructor, and EFR Instructor.

MEET THE STAFF

Balazs Doczy
PADI Course Director, EFR Instructor Trainer

Balazc 'Bali' Doczy started his career as a journalist and translator in Hungary, before deciding to pursue diving professionally in 2003. Since then, he has taught as a PADI Instructor in Indonesia, Central and North America, and Europe, in both tropical and temperate waters.

Bali has been involved in PADI IDCs since 2008, and has attended the Course Director Training Course twice - both as a PADI Course Director, and as a translator! He is also the author of the English-Hungarian diving dictionary, and works for PADI as a translator.

Since 2016, Dive2gether's IDC has been held by Bali. In that time, all his PADI Instructor Candidates have passed the PADI Instructor Examination.

Kilian Mayer
IDC Staff Instructor

One of our very own bootcamp graduates, Kilian came to us for the first time in 2016 as an open water diver, and completed his master scuba diver certification in 2017.

Since then, he has worked his way up to Divemaster, PADI Instructor, and now helps train our new crew both over the IDC as a Staff Instructor, and as our field manager across the season. In between, he even found time to go back to University and gain a degree in social care - but we are very glad to have him back!

Patient and helpful, Kilian is known for keeping the team together and making sure we all have a good time.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Course Director and EFR Instructor Trainer, Balazs Doczy, and his team of personally trained IDC Staff Instructors will provide you with an Instructor Development Course and Emergency First Responder (EFR) Instructor Course in your preferred language of either English, Dutch, German or Hungarian - setting you up for a fantastic career in diving.

Not only will you be receiving the benefit of a brilliant IDC but, included in your package, you will also receive:

2 Specialty Instructor ratings.
The EFR Instructor Course.
Free tuition in your language from our Staff Instructors before you arrive at Dive2gether Crete.

Prerequisites

To sign up for the PADI IDC you must:

Be an active PADI Divemaster (or equivalent).
Have logged at least 60 dives.
Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months.
Have a current medical statement attesting to your diving fitness signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
Be an Emergency First Responder or equivalent.
Be at least 18 years of age.

To continue and participate in the PADI Instructor Exam you must:

Have logged at least 100 dives.
Have completed a PADI IDC successfully.
Have completed an Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor course successfully.
