TUNE UP / REFRESHER DIVE
WHAT IS A "TUNE UP" OR "REFRESHER" DIVE?
A tune up (also called "refresher") is designed to get you back into diving and make you feel more comfortable in the water. The refresher will consist of a series of questions which you will fill out before your day of diving. It is not a test so do not worry if you do not understand something! It will all be explained to you by your instructor.
At the beginning of your first dive, you will conduct a series of exercises, all things that you have done before, and they are all designed to calm the nerves and remind you of a few things that you may have forgotten. This should take no more than 15 minutes at the start of the first dive, and you will then continue into a normal fun dive. This program is done from the shore.

We offer our tune up at no extra charge at the beginning of a fun dive and we group guests of a similar skill level so that you never feel rushed.

WHO SHOULD DO A TUNE UP?
In general, a Tune Up is recommended for every diver that hasn’t dived for half a year or longer.

We do not oblige you to join a tune up if you can tick 2 of the 3 points below:
-
You dived within the last 2 years
-
You have 40+ dives
-
You have a Rescue Diver license or higher

But even if you are not obliged to join a tune up, it is always a good idea to get a slow start back into diving after a longer time out of the water, so you can get used to rental equipment you're not familiar with and have a relaxed, pressure free start back into diving.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Now that you refreshed your skills and feel comfortable in the water again, it's time to have fun!

You can book a fun dive package, join one of our marine biologists on a marine biology day where you get to participate in underwater research, or you can keep developing your skills by joining a PADI course or specialty.
