Requirements:

EU passport holder.

BSc or MSc in Marine Biology or Biology.

Fluent in English and one of Dutch, German, or French.

Strong focus on conservation and understanding of ecology.

Experience in scientific education and outreach.

Full European driving licence (desirable).
-
PADI Divemaster or Instructor (desirable).
-
Experience with photography, blogging, or social media (desirable).
-
Work experience at a diving centre (desirable).

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a talented and passionate Marine Biologist who will be trained to contribute to our research programs and run the daily activities of the Dive2gether Marine Field Station.
​
At the same time, you will be part of our dynamic crew offering high quality PADI diving and snorkelling activities. In order to do this, you will need to be a PADI Divemaster and independent working dive guide. If you are not yet at this level, then we offer a highly discounted price for your diver training.

THE ROLE
Research:
-
Collection and maintenance of our long term monitoring data on invasive species.
-
Running the daily operations of our marine biology department.
-
Participating in our Posidonia oceanica restoration project.
-
Educating the Dive2gether Crew members about the marine life.
-
Preparing educational manuscripts and publications.
-
Holding regular presentations for guests and locals about the underwater world of Plakias.
-
Contributing to developing specialized courses and activities relating to marine life.

Diving-related:
-
Supervising and guiding certified divers on fun dives and marine biology activities.

Running snorkelling trips and courses.
-
Cleaning, preparing and organising diving and snorkelling gear.
-
Selling diving activities, courses, and equipment.
-
Participating in social evening programs organised by the diving school.
WHO ARE WE?
In 2016, Dive2gether begun its cooperation with Mare-Mundi, and created the Dive2gether Marine Field Station. Mare-Mundi is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the protection of the Mediterranean Sea. Led by Professor Robert Hofrichter, its main goal is to protect the Mediterranean for future generations through three pillars of research, education and protection.
More than just an eco-minded diving school Dive2gether has grown to be a marine centre for outreach and education where recreational divers and snorkelers are able to learn about the wonders of the aquatic world and its need for protection. Our guests can sign up to take part in research courses and programs contributing to our goals of creating local and international awareness, while collecting long term data in the area in Plakias. Universities and High Schools are welcomed for educational and practical field courses.

Staff - we care for our 'crew', with good working and living conditions and weekly meetings to secure continued communication from both sides. All crew is offered continued education and development within the company, and can dive for free on days off.

Guests - we receive our guests as friends. We do things a bit differently here, with a slower pace to prioritise personal attention and social connection between crew and guests. All guests, their family and friends are invited to our weekly dinner social hosted by the crew. We are looking for social staff who want to forge real connections and give the best possible experience.
